What inspired you to get involved with animal rights?

Earthlings, the movie. After 10 years of veg/pesc waffling, rationalizing, denial, and ignorance... I finally made the connection.

Which animal rights issues are you most passionate about?

- explosing the cruelties inherent in egg & dairy production - debunking the myths of humane/ethical animal agriculture - exploring the intersectionalities of oppression and drawing links to other social/environmental justice movements

Which types of advocacy would you like to be involved with (eg. leafleting, tabling, demonstrations, school education, event planning, etc)?

I have lots of experience leafletting and tabling. I love talking to the public! I'm interested in participating in presentations at high schools.

Please feel free to add anything else you'd like to say related to animal rights advocacy.

I love learning how to communicate more effectively by being a joyful vegan and listening to where people are coming from. Colleen Patrick-Godreau has some excellent podcasts about effective communication! http://www.compassionatecook.com/publications/vegetarian-food-for-thought-podcast

What alissa is saying about this Meetup Group

So glad this meetup exists as platform for various events in the city. Always great to stay in the loop and meet new people. I look forward to meeting more of the 200+ activists on here!
