Rodeo is Cruelty: A Peaceful Demonstration

This will also be peaceful outreach for the billions of animals that are routinely abused in food production and also for the animals that are so severely abused in rodeo events. The National Western Stock Show is a large trade show for the animal agriculture industry, one that is characterized by brutality and violence towards animals.
We plan to have a big visual impact with a large "Stop Animal Cruelty" banner and a series of 3' x 4' posters (a total of 10) created by Joanna Lucas of Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary. The poster series can be viewed at

Great posters will be provided, as mentioned above, but feel free to make your own to the point, easy to read posters, if you like. We will also be providing leaflets as well. Afterwards, we can all grab a bite to eat or some coffee/tea if anyone would like to!

Please show your compassion for the voiceless. It is not enough to live compassionately, we must also act and speak up!

Remaining times for demos are:

Sunday, Jan. 20 at 12:30 PM and 5 PM

Friday, Jan. 25 at 6 PM

Saturday, Jan. 26 at 2 PM

Sunday, Jan. 27 at 12:30 PM

Does anyone want to go out for an early dinner afterwards? Since it ends at 3:30, I am guessing we could all be somewhere by 4:30 so we don't have to rush out. I have to be at work by 6:45. I vote for Watercourse!

Is the rodeo only on weekends and fridays? Fortunately, I was able to get away yesterday Sunday, and went to the rodeo demo at 1:15pm and apparently I was either too late or too early because I couldn't find anyone of us there. Did I go to wrong place? The burrito guy in wheel chair said he hadn't seen any protestors that day. So sorry I got it mixed up. Better luck next time. hopefully. Oh, and they had the handicap parking lot locked. was unable to find close in parking! Boohoo :-)

Hi Heather, there wasn't a demo posted for yesterday, because there was no one who said they were willing who was available to organize one. I sorry you wasted a trip. I wish we could have demos there the whole 2 weeks, but we don't have enough people offering to host them. If it isn't on the calendar, then there isn't a demo. There is one happening this coming Fri, Sat, and Sun. Check the dates carefully. If you, any of you, are willing to be the host for one, let us know in advance and we will post and get materials to you. Thank you!!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
