1/16/13 UPDATE – Thank you to all who have posted comments on the Colorado Springs Gazette article.
There are only 1,800 hens that have survived at Grant Farms. Despite several people contacting the Farm Sanctuary, they’ve responded that they will not be able to take in any of the hens. If you’d like more information about what is happening or to offer ideas or help, please email
This story, obviously, reinforces the need to educate people about the sad reality of “organic” and “free range” eggs L
I hope everyone will go to this article TODAY & post a comment since time is of the essence:
Perhaps we can at least get media coverage of this atrocity. Thanks for helping ASAP.

I came across this today and thought I would share with all of you. These poor babies starved to death, and this is from one of the PREMIER Free Range egg suppliers in Colorado.
This is despicable. Please speak out when you hear your friends say "they only eat free range eggs".
ATTENTION Northern Coloradans: URGENT! Grant Farms has gone bankrupt. Unfortunately, the Farm was into animal agriculture and has had 5,000 of their 14,000 young egg laying chickens murdered because they were starving to death due to lack of funds for feed. If you can adopt hens ASAP and /or donate chicken feed (16% complete) please contact me. Another several thousand are due to be killed THIS WEEK. Contact me at [address removed] for more information on how you can help.
