Meeting Description: Central Florida Earth Day (CFED) is a weekend-long celebration taking place April 19-20th.

The mission of CFED is educate our community on environmental organizations, principals and practices while affording attendees an opportunity to engage in these hands-on.

A weekend of education and mobilization to take responsibility for a healthy local environment and a healthy, sustainable planet! Join local environmental organizations, businesses and municipalities as we share our support of Mother Nature by participating in local events throughout the weekend.

Saturday the 19th will feature a FREE outdoor festival at the Florida School of Holistic Living and Dandelion Cafe on Thornton Avenue, with three stages and a diverse music line-up including the Token Gamblers and SKIP from Nonsense. We will have environmental workshops, a kid's play area, an art sale, and much more.

Sunday the 20th will feature action events presented by Central Florida environmental organizations and municipal agencies. These events include park clean ups, natural habitat restoration, plantings, invasive species removal and educational events.

With its commitment to connecting community members of the region with environmental education, and action, in celebration of the planet, Central Florida Earth Day 2008 carries on in the tradition of local events of years past.
