Animals have always made me happy, and a few years ago, I decided I needed to do a bit more to pay them back for that. I switched from vegetarian (which I'd been since the age of 15) to vegan, and I joined FVA. This group rocks.
Tabling, and "soft" activism, like bake sales. I serve on FVA's PR committee; we promote events such as the annual Tampa Bay Veg Fest, which is held every October.
They need and deserve our support. They give so much to humans, and unfortunately, what they receive back is not always kind or positive. Like being tortured, slaughtered, and eaten, f'rinstance.
I compulsively check my e-mail day and night, so that's the best way to reach me. I'm available for volunteering on weeknights and weekends.
"VP is a great forum for veg*ns to meet and bounce ideas off each other, discuss veg-related issues, talk about the weather, whatever. I'm honored to be a founding member and moderator and encourage everyone to check it out."
Great folks who are passionate about issues that really matter.

Hi Lisa, Yes Elmira's definitely works with a variety of groups that express a desire to volunteer.
Hey again! You ladies were fabulous, I can't wait to move down there and get involved!! :)
Thanks Lisa! I will definitely look into that group. I can't wait to check out Veg Fest. See ya there! :)
Hi Lisa, Love your prompt comments. You seem to be a real active activist and greyhound connected.
Come on over to Sarasota, we do some interesting demos too regarding foie gras. And we got nice
restaurants that feed yummy vegan dishes. Always open ears for your opinions.

Hi Lisa. Yes, it's me. I'm going to send out an email to see if everyone could meet either Monday or Tuesday in the early evening (about 6 or 6:30 p.m.). Hope you're having a great week. Thanks, John
Hi Lisa! Sorry about the delay in responding to your greeting. I simply did not know that this function existed.
