Sorry to say the only activism I have time for at this point is taking care of the animals in residence at Darlynn's Darlins. I work full time away to fund the operation. Would love to turn this place into an educational destination but that is impossible without help or a lot more money to hire help, when working full time and managing with one other disabled individual the day to day work involved in caring for the life situation of 200 animals and upkeep of their habitat.
I have discovered that we humans have got it pretty much all wrong where animal others are concerned. They are so unassuming and grateful for the smallest kindness shown to them. After a decade of living up close and personal with so many of so many types I have learned that the injustices inflicted upon them by our kind are unnecessary, unforgivable, and must end. Whatever I can do toward accomplishing that end, has become my life work.
All my time is pretty well consumed by my full time job and taking care of the animals here. We have no help to speak of and certainly no regular help and I work odd days/hours so everything is a juggling act. With limited daylight now it's a real challenge just to get everything done that needs to be done every day.
Hi There! I founded Darlynn's Darlins Inc, a 501(c)(3)farm type animal rescue in Polk City. It's 200+/- farm type animals, mostly pigs of various types and sizes, who have a safe place to live for life. Come out and visit or lend a hand.
