 Florida State Animal Response Coalition

Dear Shannon,
Imagine a life on chains, no tender touch, hot, hungry and thirsty. The only release comes when they bring you to the ring to "test" you in a fight with another dog. You lick your wounds, because nobody cares enough to treat them. You wait on your chain for the next "test".

Imagine.....that you are owned by a Dog Fighter. can change it all for that dog and more dogs just like him.

Florida State Animal Response Coalition is on the ground right now helping care for the dogs from what is thought to be the 2nd largest dog fighting raid in U.S. history. Florida SARC volunteers ARE changing the lives of these former fighting dogs.

When these dogs were rescued by the ASPCA, our volunteers were already on the ground preparing to receive them into a safe and secure environment. They prepared food, fresh water, clean bedding, toys and treats, simple pleasures these dogs had never known. For three weeks now, our volunteers have been working side by side with the ASPCA to care for these dogs. We will continue working to care for these dogs in the months that come.

A few things you may not know about Florida SARC!
  • We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization
  • We are an all volunteer based organization! We have no paid staff, all of our staff positions are manned by volunteers like you.

We cannot do this without your help. Help our team grow, help us be there for animals in need.

 Please donate today.

What our volunteers are saying:

"Thank you for including us on the FL-SARC team and thank you for preparing us so well for this life-changing experience."
"I have never felt such purpose in my life.  Every day as I walked by cage after cage and peered into those same eyes and fed those same faces, I could see the subtle and not-so-subtle improvements:  The pregnant mom that looked hopeless now began to ever so slowly wag her tail when I approached her, the wary young male that used to cower and shake in the back of his cage now greeted me shyly at the front by his gate, the older female that used to curl up tightly on the cement in the corner of her cage was now lounging on her side on her Kuranda bed like Suntan Barbie."

"The people that I met from FL SARC, ASPCA and other organizations were so dedicated, caring, and hardworking; I was proud to be part of this important effort.  Yes the hours were long, it was hot and we were tired, but it was nothing compared to what those dogs had been through."

How can you help?
  • Host a class! We are always looking for additional locations to host classes. We have a particular need in the Panhandle region and Miami-Dade area. Please send us an email!
  • The ASPCA has made a special request for donations of gift cards from
