If you can help save Steaky, contact Flagler Humane Society. Their info is  1 Shelter Dr, Palm Coast [masked].

A county worker in Flagler County (she does NOT work for Animal Services) is trying to help a dog that touched her heart and needs help.

She is hoping a rescue group will pull him (or adopt or foster)...anything to get him out of the county shelter. See note below.

Please share with rescue groups or anyone who may be able to help get this guy out of the county shelter to safety.

Many, many thanks,
Dina Athanassie

Subject: Steaky Bone dog

Hey Dina,

A woman called Saturday and said she had to surrender a dog.  The woman's friend dumped Steaky on her 6 months ago and never came back and she never saw him again and he wouldn't answer his phone.

She did good by Steaky because he looks awesome! And she has no money...she lives in a matchbox of a room and she would bring Steaky in at night. She is a senior, on oxygen and tiny...and Steaky dragged her around as he does need to be worked on leash. She was heartbroken but she couldn't do it anymore.

Steaky is a medium-large Shepherd mix who is neutered (!!!!), maybe 60-65 pounds (?), is ball crazy and is very sweet tempered. May bark at first when he doesn't know someone but quickly warms up and will want to play ball with you. A tad uncomfortable in a car but doesn't get sick in one. I think he just isn't used to being in one.

I couldn't bring him home although I fell in love with this boy....I took him to Flagler Humane Society. Their info is  1 Shelter Dr, Palm Coast [masked].

Thank you so much...he really has just touched my heart:)
