Screening: SkinTrade -a documentary on the fur industry and anti-fur activism

Refreshments will be served, sponsored by Hunter College's PAL Paths to Animal Liberation.

Please join us at Bluestockings (www.bluestockings.com) for a screening of Shannon Keith’s Skin Trade. At the conclusion of the film we will have speeches by local animal rights activists which will touch upon and expand on the topic of the fur trade.

WHEN: Saturday January 11th - 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

WHERE: Bluestockings Bookstore, Café, & Activist Center  172 Allen St. New York, NY 10002

The film dismantles the myths the fur industry perpetuates that fur is attractive, humane and environmentally friendly. It does so by presenting the realities of what fur bearing animals go through in the fur industry. Keith further explores the issues through interviews with insiders, designers, and animal rights leaders.

This event aims to increase public awareness about what the fur trade does and how the public can join their local grassroots groups in the fight against fur. We hope this screening will generate further interest in our current anti-fur campaign and we will encourage even more people to participate in our march against fur on February 8th, 2014. This will be a call to activism.

Refreshments will be served, sponsored by Hunter College's PAL Paths to Animal Liberation.
