Animate Houston's Second Meetup in 2014

Join us at the next Animate Houston which will be held at the new Midtown office of Bouncing Pixel! We hope you can make it to this meetup as we bring together Houston's animation, motion graphics, and game development communities.

Don't bring your demos, portfolios, or show reels. There are no formal presentations, so don't let stage fright keep you away. Expect good conversations with talented people at our new inside-the-loop home.

THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THIS MEETUP. Lots of street parking is available, but please make sure you don't park too close to the crosswalks or stop signs. They do give out tickets around here on occasion.

See you there -- Jerald, Jackson and the Bouncing Pixel team.

My wife and I stopped by tonight but could not stay too long. We met some of the Bouncing Pixel team and a few artists. I'm a game developer who is looking for dedicated 2D and 3D artists for a game project. If this sounds like you, please ask me for more information. Thanks!

For a game project you'll need yourself, a designer (which you forgot to mention), an animator, environment artist, shading & lighting, and character modeler. Usually the 3D artists are already adept as 2D artist also.

Fantastic meetup! Met lots of great, fun, laid back people I could relate to artistically who were interesting to listen and talk to. Had some fun afterwards as well. Made some connections to boot. Tons of fun!

sooo. if i'm mainly an editor who is interested in animation/app development, am i cool to slide through and get inspired from this talented group? or is it only for animators already in the biz?

    May 22, 2014

It's for anyone who is interested in the animation industry. So yes, you should come.

I'm looking forward to seeing what other developers are doing in Houston again. In addition, I recently came across this article :
(How to Prototype a Game in Under 7 Days)
    http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/130848/how_to_prototype_a_game_in_under_7_.php

Hope others enjoy what it has to say, and might be interested in forming a small group as they do in the article to improve over all game development in our own projects.

    See ya'll there!
