Basically guitar. I played a lot more acoustic when I was younger and want to get back to that too. When I get my chops back (or new ones to replace them, ha!) I hope to learn more flat picking, fingerpicking style, bottleneck slide, and even some classical type stuff (I studied classical guitar for a very short period of time while I was in college; but stopped after a year or so as it was just too much work on top of other classes, & thus it stopped being fun. It did improve my other playing at the time...but the songs & technique are no longer in the current memory banks, ha...along with a lot of other things, musical and otherwise, ha, ha). I also have some other instruments that I have acquired over the past few years, that I would like to learn, but have not yet found the time to try (including bass guitar, keyboards, harmonica and wooden flute). I also want to develop my vocals (did not do much of that in the past…).
I like to play and listen to a very diverse selection of music types and styles. In the short time that I have been playing again, I have been primarily playing electric blues and rock. But that was just the easiest place for me to start again. I certainly do love the Blues (playing them, not living them – done way too much of that already, ha!), but I have and would enjoy playing & learning just about anything. I enjoy the diversity, variety, camaraderie, and growth that come with the group experience and exposure to new styles, songs and techniques, as well as different approaches to the same music, songs, etc.
Hi. I am just starting to play again after basically setting down my guitars for 30+ yrs. All in all it’s about enjoying a passion, & sharing it with others. But rusty I am, ha!
