Introduction

Hi, my name is Elena. I'm originally from Russia, and I've always liked books and reading.

Why did you join this book group and what do you hope to get out of it?

I'd like to broaden my reading horyzons and also to be able to discuss literature with other book-lovers.

What is your all-time favorite book?

I can't really name one, but I'm a big Jane Austen fan, so I tend to re-read all her books. I also like Russian literature and read some of my favorite Russian writers and poets (Pushkin, Lermontov, Blok, Gumilev, Bulgakov, Bunin, Chekhov). From modern American writers of non-fiction I really enjoy Bill Bryson.

We have some folk from Russia as well an some who want to learn Russian. :) Activites include things like dinners, pubs, dancing, karaoke, and so on.
