Hi, My name is Thomas and I have been shooting professionally for the past 20+ years. I am originally from the Ann Arbor area. My photo travels and work have taken me from A2 to Waikiki, and many places between (some great some not so great).
I have been shooting images since 1976,professionally for the past 20 years. My neighbor/mentor was the Marine corps photog at Hiroshima and Nagasaki after that he was a staff photog for the President thru Nixon. I guess you could say I got "the bug" from him. Since then I have shot everything from lead photog on a cruse ship (in Hawaii) to choke...weddings,dog shows and senior portraits (anything to pay the bills)....l.o.l.
I shoot with Nikon DSLR's (D2h,D200,D40) and old "crappy" film mediums. Any thing for an interesting and unusual image works for me. I love prime lens's especially my 8mm fishy!
I really enjoy shooting sports and special events. Currently I've been focusing on landscapes and landmarks around A2 and using HDR until that faze wears out.I am the official photog for the Ann Arbor Street Fair A2 Kiwanis club and I post images in Arborweb.com the observers web site.
By shooting more images, looking at and getting inspiration from other photogs images. My goals are to publish a travel photography book and shoot more stock images for sale at art fairs and shows. I would like to start a photographers co-op sort of thing were we share space to display our work and "horse trade" camera gear and maybe have a small camera shop in the front....Ann arbor needs a camera shop desperately,a place you can walk into and talk to someone who is passionate about photography and photo gear (I'm a GEAR HEAD @ HEART).....
From other photogs in Ann Arbor...and F.B.
"Ann Arbor is one of my favorite "towns" in the U.S. there is a ton of talent here and lots of opportunities for photographers and artist alike.Kewl stuff to shoot and lots of "interesting" people."
Been with the bug's for a little while now...I'm impressed with all the talent that is out there! This group is really getting my fire burning to do more with my photography career...I've been stagnate for way to long...
