My name is Amy, I am so excited to have found this group! I am a teacher from the Metro Detroit area. I have a true passion for photography and I am eager to learn from what looks like a great group of photo enthusiasts!
I took a class in high school (back in, ahem...well it has been a long time) that taught us some very basics in shooting, studio and darkroom applications. Then I was the Photography Editor for my University Newspaper. Since then, I have enjoyed photography as a creative outlet and a way to get out and see some beautiful things!
Cannon Rebel XSi, DSLR I have 2 favorite lenses; 75-300mm and my 100mm macro lens (new toy...love it!)
I love photographing nature in general. My true penchant is for shooting flowers and I have recently developed a passion for macro work.
I would love to learn the many elusive functions of my camera! I used to shoot everything manually before I moved to digital. Since then, I have gotten a little lazy and let the camera do it's thing. So, I admittedly do not know all of the functions or where to find the buttons that I need. I would also love to learn to shoot from a more artistic perspective that makes my captures stand out from the standard snapshot. I also have just purchased PhotoShop elements for Mac & I have absolutely no clue how to use it! I have been using iPhoto and I would like to see what else is out there in the world of post production processing.

Hey Amy,
Good to see you hear! Are you signed up for any of the holiday lighting workshops? Let's go shooting some time...and take Matt with us!!
Amy: Welcome to the group! We are planning many events outdoors to help those with their nature and macro interests such as yours as well as new areas for group photo education. So please stay tuned to our events! Are you up for outdoor macro photography in winter? Again, contact us at letter sign below my mug shot as organizer at left of page to give feedback or further questions. Hope to meet you soon! Thomas S.
Thanks for pointing that out Amy, it is $50 plus tip for Windsor at the end.. I will fix it right now
Hi Amy,
Sounds like you have lots of questions, which is good. With regard to why you would want an external flash, the workshop on Tuesday would be a great opportunity to see what an external flash can do for your photography.
Regarding uses for your photos there are several different ways you can go with that depending on how involved you want to get into things. You can look at stock photo services, or you can get into the Art Fair market, or market to galleries, etc.
Welcome,
Bob
