Introduction

I'm Diana Day and I live in a rural area between Munith and Pleasant Lake. I've been married 46 years with grown kids and grandkids. I'm retired from a career in Human Resources. I'm an author for Photoshop Elements Techniques magazine/website.

How long have you enjoyed photography? What got you into it?

I've always had cameras since I was a kid and loved taking photos. Several years ago, I became interested in photo editing when I received Photoshop Elements bundled with a scanner I bought. Once I became good at editing photos, I decided I should get a better camera and learn to take better photos. I bought my first dSLR and took a couple courses in 2007.

What kind of camera do you use, and what is your favorite lens?

Canon 5D Mark II which I upgraded to in October, 2011, with my 24-105 on it most of the time. Before that I used a Canon XTi and my 24-70 lens.

What type of photography do you most enjoy (e.g. portraiture, landscape, macro, street photography, nature, candid, etc.)?

Portraiture, landscape, nature.

How would you like to improve your photography? What are your goals?

I would like my camera settings to become second nature to me and to take better exposed, sharper images. I want to learn more about lighting, particularly off-camera studio lighting.
