I've been taking pictures for quite a few years, and bought my first SLR in the '90's.
Right now, I'm working with a FujiFilm A-170 digital point-and-shoot which was given to me as a gift. It's not as fancy as some cameras, but I do get great images with it! I hope to soon move up to some type of DSLR, so that I can use filters and different lenses again.
My own favorite images tend to be of architecture, details of buildings, city-scapes, and land- and waterscapes.
Among my goals is to learn more about digital processing and editing techniques. I do not have Photoshop on my computer, but I do have some others I work with: Gimp 2, Paint.Net, and Kodak Easy Share. Both of the first two appear to have many of the same editing options as Photoshop, and they have the advantage of being freeware. I tend to use Paint.Net most frequently because I learned of it first. I want to learn more about the use of layers and object selection, just to name two items.
A coaching professional I know in Ann Arbor mentioned the group to me, and I followed up by internet.
Hi, I'm Mike, and I'm interested in meeting and learning from other photographers.
Have only made it to two meetups so far, but have enjoyed both and am looking forward to future events.
