Discuss the Neuroscience of Trust

Hi All,

I'd like to meet this month and hope this date/time/venue work for you. If not, and you have a real interest in the topic, let me know and we'll modify....I have been reading a bit on the relationship between social bonding, trust, and nurturing behaviors as they relate to oxytocin (the 'love' hormone) and, in particular, how oxytocin appears to modulate threat assessment/fear responses mediated by the amygdala. Cool Stuff, and I'd like to share it with you and, as always, open up conversation around how it relates to spiritual practices and development.

On a separate but related note, there is a group here on the UM campus that is getting revived with an open house this coming Monday at 4:30 pm. It's called the Program in Creativity and Consciousness Studies (PCCS), the open house is free and open to the public, and you can read more here http://sitemaker.umich.edu/pccs/events___initiatives

Peace to you,

Thomas

I found the discussion lively and interesting. Several research studies were reviewed and discussed. Thomas the moderator was courteous, thoughtful and encouraged everyone to participate. Each person had astute and poignant insights on the research.

I just had a client schedule for Monday at 6:00. It's a very popular time for clients. Oh well, I may stop by afterwards for a few minutes.

Right now my schedule is open for the meetup day/time but that can change at any time. Hope to see you there!

Hi Thomas. I'm interested in the oxytocin discussion. Mondays are hit or miss for me. Wednesdays and Fridays are much better.
