Ann Pale Kreyol is about connecting with the Haitian part of yourself, attending cultural events with a Haitian theme, mingling with other Haitians/Haitian-Americans, speaking Kreyol at various events, volunteering and more.

We all commit to being respectful of other members and open and receptive to people at various levels of their Haitian cultural awareness and Kreyol speaking ability. My hope is that through participation in this group we help each other to honor the language and improve our Kreyol  fluency. Occasionally, I may offer a Kreyol workshop and/or resources to help beginners.  But this is not a "learn kreyol" group.  if you don't speak Kreyol at all, I encourage you to take classes so that you can practice what you learn with other members.

Volunteerism and giving back is also a major focus on this group.

ACTIVITY TYPES

Activities will vary and include discussions about various aspects of the Haitian culture, folkloric dance lessons, culturally based events focused on art, books, dance, music, other performances and more.  We will also enjoy lunch/dinners, field trips, Haitian cooking classes and other activities that emerge from member's interests. Since I have limited availability, most events will take place on Fri, Sat or Sun.

When you register for an event.  Show up.  If something comes up and you can't attend either change your RSVP a few hours before the event or text the organizer.  No shows will be removed from the group.  Thanks for your courtesy.
