Big Data ! Data Science ! Predictive Analytics ! Machine Learning ! ... these are all great buzzwords but to make a system actually work and that has an impact is a non-trivial task. To go from concept to system deployment many technical, project and program elements need to come together. The goal of this meet-up group is to provide a forum for systems architects/engineers, software architects, software engineers, analysts, informaticists, data scientists, program managers and end customers a forum to discuss systems development in the area of data science. Example topics to be discussed: what role does requirements analysis and architecture play in a knowledge intensive and discovery system? How does one scope the hardware and computational architecture for a given system? How does analytic and system verification and validation occur? How does one manage a large systems development effort? How does one deal with the scale of data and the algorithmic assumptions being used for a given data analytic? What are the current technologies for implementing a given concept? How does one structure teams to implement a large scale system? What tools and methods can be used to aid in systems development.
I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
