I've been meeting many singles in the Antelope Valley who are tried of driving down to L.A. for a little fun. So, now that I've learned to manage my time, I've decided to start up a new meetup group.

I wanted this meetup group to be a way for singles to get together to have a little fun and meet new people.

This group is for single people who are tired of driving over the hill just to have a little fun. Most of the activities scheduled will be local and hopefully inexpensive, too.

If the activities do not interest you or are at times where you can't attend, become an assistant organizer and plan activities you and other members will attend.

I don't like having rules for the meetup; however, I also don't want to have lots of members who never show up for anything. So, here are the rules for this meetup:

1. If you RSVP 'yes' for an activity, show up. If not, contact the organizer and let them know you can't make it. My (Shavonne) phone number is posted in the discussion area. Please add it to your phone and use it. I will also try to send out a reminder to contact me 1 day before the event starts.

2. If you RSVP 'yes' and don't show up or fail to contact the organizer of your availability, you will be removed from the group.

3. If you join and fail to shop up for any activity in a 2-month period, you will be removed from the group.

4. Leave your children at home. This is not a meetup for singles AND their children.

5. You must submit a current picture of yourself. I will not allow people who submit pictures of their dogs, cats, stuffed animals, etc to join this group. My reason? If I don't know what you look like, how am I supposed to identify you in a crowd?

I'd rather have a group of 10 active members than a 250 non-active members. This isn't Facebook.
