I have written mostly marketing copy, but I dabble in fictional scenes. I have no large project on the horizon.
Not enough. I am going through some large changes in my life, and though this is probably good fodder for writing, I haven't found the positive energy yet to do so.
I'm new to the area, I know no one (which is often a blessing--consider the liberty of not having to dress up to go to an upscale Ralph's for cat food) and I naturally connect with people who think for themselves, are critical in analysis but open to ideas.
I am thinking of hiring myself out as a dinner companion--someone who fills that seat left empty at the last moment at a dinner party. I am no brainiac, but I am fairly well educated, somewhat intelligent, and have a genuine curiosity about and interest in people. In short, I can have an enjoyable conversation with just about anyone.
I want to be someone else...or maybe several someones. I write because I love words--where they came from, how they've evolved, and what they convey.
Not sure I fit in yet. They are formidable.
