What do you write?

I write screenplays. I have three completed. Only one has received some interest, but I'm just starting, so it's a slow learning process.

How often do you write?

Not enough. I kind of lost my ooomph when I got here. I'm so OCD, I was obsessed with getting the house in order and boxes unpacked, oh yeah and find the computer before I could start writing and then I just found a million excuses to not. Sound familiar?

Why do you want to join this Merry Band?

There would be nothing greater than being with like minded people to bounce ideas off of even if I don't act on them. I'm the kind of person that may not like an idea, but it triggers another and gets the creative process flowing.

Free Style Category: Write whatever you want here

I get to show my stuff here, huh? Okay, Well, how about a little about me? I've been in Oceanside going on five weeks now. In Alabama, I worked at a very busy clinic as a medical interpreter. My Spanish at first was not that great, but they hired me anyway because daddy knew the mom of one of the nurses and in small towns like anywhere else, but especially in small close knit communities, it's not always what you know but who you know and that's how I got the job. It was rough at first, but I finally got to talking like a real Mexican, but in our community we were working primarily with Guatemalans. That's what actually inspired my second screenplay, "Baja Run". My first screenplay "Red Bra" was absolutely horrid, but I keep it to look back on and maybe someday, rewrite but also to remind myself of the progress I've made. It deals with the death of two abusive parents and the journey four siblings take to mend themselves.

Hi! I'm Jo and I just moved here from Alabama. I don't really know many people in this part of San Diego. Grew up in San Diego, but have been away a very long time. I would like to meet people with like interests to keep the juices flowing.
