(Some of you received this message yesterday or the day before, but I have added a little something at the end this time: our new contest announcement)
Our transition from Oceanside to Moscow is now complete, and of course, we never left cyberspace at all.
A Word with You Press has published about ten books since its inception at the tail end of 2009. While we have provided editing and proofing, illustrators and design services for both interior and cover, marketing has always been the task of the author; our only contribution to promotion of the books has been to conduct sporadic workshops run by professionals to empower each author to sell their own works. Though we never willfully created an expectation of sales, this limited approach has proven to be disappointing to our authors and unsustainable for us.
After four grueling years, we are at last in a position to change that, and have assembled the personnel to assure that 2014 will be the year we all will prosper.
Within the next month to six weeks we will have an expanded
menu that will include promotion, distribution and marketing services, both for
brick-and-mortar locations and particularly on-line. Some of the costs may be
absorbed by A Word with You Press; some will require a subsidy from each
author, and still other services will be provided in exchange for royalties
based upon sales. We are fortunate in that none of the books in our library
have a limited shelf life.

We are taking a hiatus from our website until mid-January in order to have all or most of our changes activated before we fully engage our readers and authors.

Contest title: A dozen roses from a single Thorn: A Valentine's Day love story
Word length: 400 to 500 words
Prompt: "but it was only a rumor"
Parameters: Write a love story using the prompt somewhere in your submission. Imagine you are writing it not to the general audience of awwyp but to someone special or someone who could be special to you.
Prizes: First prize: The
editor-in-chief (moi) will send a dozen roses on your behalf to the
designate of your choice on Valentine's Day, anywhere FTD delivers. An
attractive print of your story will be sent with a Valentine's day card by

Second prize: any two books from our store, sent to a single address
Third prize: any book from our store

Judging: We will have a mystery judge. Due to the short duration of the contest, there will be no "finalists."
Entry fee: If you have previously entered three of our
contests, no fee to enter. $10 through Paypal to [address removed] for
all others. After you have entered three contests, no fee for future
contest entries except in extraordinary circumstances involving a substantial
cash prize. We ask each entrant to please pass this along on their FB, tweets, and all social media.
