Greetings from the towers that are A Word with You Press, in sunny, downtown Moscow, the land of the double entundra and Hemming-by-the-way country! (hint: if you think we are in Moscow, Kentucky, look at the signature details at the end of the email)
Our first contest of the year is in bloom!
"A Dozen Roses from a Single Thorn: A Valentine's Day Love Story"
Jerry Rubin wrote that "love" has lost its meaning because "Cars love Shell." Help us bring back that lovin' feelin'!
Write a story or poem about love--requited or un. Put some passion to the pen, some thrill to the quill or some free-board to the keyboard (hey...it rhymes!)
Write as if it will be read to that one special person or furry animal.
Contest will be judged by famed relationship coach and inspirational speaker Kristine Rose Grant. (www.kristinerosegrant.com)
The Editor-in-chief (moi) will send a dozen long stemmed roses to the winner's object of desire on Valentine's Day, plus the author keeps $250 worth of prizes! Prizes for second and third place, too. AND if you are a writer or artist send us a link to your website with your contest submission and we will scratch your back, putting an intro and link to your site after your story.
CAN YOU PLEASE HELP US SUCCEED WITH THIS CONTEST?
Google writers and poetry groups in your part of the world. There is always a contact person. Could you introduce yourself to them as a fellow writer who romps in our playground? We are always looking for new voices to flesh out our choir. Send a link to the contest, and ask your contact if they would share it with their group? Facebook, anyone?
It's almost a contest about a contest. We will give $100 gift certificate good for the books, editorial and publishing services merchandise and events we will post in our store on February tenth, to thee among ye who recruits the most new writers. Details also on our website. Just click on the belly-button of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader on the carousel of our site.
So check out our contest created by Thorn and judged by Rose. Has the makings of the perfect schwarm!
All you need is love! Happy Valentine's Day!
