Donna Bivens of the Union of Minority Neighborhoods' Boston Busing/Desegregation Project will lead this session.
We'll begin with dinner, potluck style.* Then we'll look at a timeline of the history of educational equity in Boston, and add our own experiences to it. Next we'll watch the segment of Eyes on the Prize which focuses on Boston. Finally we'll have a story circle about our own stories related to busing/desegregation. (Even if you weren't directly affected by it, you will be included in the story circle. Everyone has a story to share...come and see!)

This is a free event, though donations for BBDP are welcome.
If you have time before this meetup, you might want to watch the film "Can We Talk?" which is also used by the project: http://bbdplearningnetwork.wordpress.com/2013/05/22/can-we-talk-learning-from-bostons-busingdesegregation-project/
*If you are willing to bring some food as part of the potluck, please let us know what you are bringing--you can reply to the comment about it below. If you are unable to bring anything, that's fine, you can still come and eat!
