Hi. I am relatively new to this work. I am very interested in learning as much as I can to be a meaningful part of creating change.
Hardly. I have a strong internal response when I hear others speak as if it has been, and recognize how much there is to be done, for me to do.
Very much so. I now understand better the relative invisibility of whiteness. I am thinking the degree to which whiteness is not noticed, and taken for granted, by white people, may well be in proportion to the pervasiveness of racism toward people of color. Therefore the lack of awareness of whiteness among white people and racist ideas and behaviors toward people of color, are essentially 2 sides of the same coin. Inseparable.
Tim Wise. His work is the one I have most encountered so far. I also am very interested in exploring the work of W.E.B. Du Bois,

Marty, I am a new organizer to this group and was just looking at the membership profiles and noticed that you also live in New London. Nice to "meet" a neighbor :) Hope to see you at an event in the near future.
