I live in Boston and have been active in local pro-democracy movements for over 10 years. Racism, sexism, and other forms of oppression are thriving in Boston, and I want to be part of a group of people that is committed to challenging that reality.

Who is your favorite author that writes about racism? Why?
Tim Wise. As someone who has the privilege of being an educated, straight, white male, I can relate to him. I think he does a great job of exposing the way racism affects us day-to-day and also how we can challenge the dominant myths of "post-racial" America.
