Introduction
I am a high school health teacher in Scituate and I live in Dorchester.I have participated in anti-racist training with The People's Institute (New Orleans).I facilitate discussions with my students about race and racism as a part of our curriculum.
Did you believe racism has been erradicated?
No, I know that it has not.
Did you believe that whiteness plays a major role in racism?
Yes, I believe that white culture is the root of racism in this country.
Who is your favorite author that writes about racism? Why?
bell hooks--because I love her honesty in killing rage. Tim Wise--because I appreciate his clear, well-researched analysis and the way he holds fellow white people accountable
