No, I believe that it has just morphed. People are always prejudiced but hide many of their feelings.
Ralph Ellison's book "Invisible Man" was very interesting to me because it calls into question the feeling of disillusionment felt by African American's. The main character doesn't feel as though he is physically invisible but rather he notices the refusal of others to see him. It is a very moving story.
