No, racism has laid roots in all systems and structures we interact with on a daily basis. Cultural perceptions may have changed, but have further entrenched racism, pushing public conversation about race underground.
I believe white power and privilege structures, maintains and perpetuates racism.
Just one!? How about three. Octavia Butler because through her fiction she helps us imagine potential futures of both reconciliation and continued oppression. Audre Lorde for her poetry and its teachings about the intersectionality of oppression and that we do not live "single-issue lives." And lastly, bell hooks for her ability to connect and require theory with practice and action.
