Tuesday Night Lecture Series: History of Spirits in PDX

Join Joe Streckert as he discusses the history of spirits in Portland. Spirits as in liquor, beer and wine. What is it about Portland that has made it home to so many fine distilleries, breweries and vineyards? Why is this such a 'drinking town'? How has the Oregon Liquor Control Commission shaped our history? Find out all this and more.
Joe Streckert is a Portland guide, historian, and writer.
Doors at 6pm. Free. Happy hour prices until 7pm.
A meetup table will be set up and marked for up to 20 guests.

I think Joe is the fella without the foul mouth, I hope.

Joe may use a bad word or two, but I'm sure you are speaking of Doug, who is notorious for swearing. He's very popular with some, but not with others for that reason.

The site for the Jack London shows this starting at 7 pm rather than 7:30 - do they normally start late? Also, is anyone planning to arrive early for HH before the show?

Happy hour is 4-7 and available in the pool room above or down in the JL when doors open at 6. The event is often billed as starting at 7 to help ensure guests arrive and are settled in seats by the time the lecture starts at 7:30.

One guest for sure. The other a maybe. Depends on work schedule.
