Today we head south to explore little gems of the Willamette valley. This all day tour will take us to the following:
- Woodburn Tulip Festival - Come celebrate the final weekend of the Tulip Festival at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm where we'll walk through rows of multicolored tulips. BRING YOUR CAMERA!
- Mt Angel and the Abbey - We'll visit this town that sits, like an island, on a hill overlooking the Willamette Valley. See the German themed businesses that sponsor the annual Oktoberfest and the historic Abbey with it's famous library designed by Finnish architect, Alvar Alto.
- Silverton - We will stop in Silverton to have lunch and admire the murals painted throughout this riverside town.
- Aurora - Heading back towards Portland, we'll make a stop in the antique mecca of Aurora. Learn the history of this town which started as one of Oregon's first communal Utopian societies. We can also do wine tasting as time permits.
We should be back in Portland between 5 and 6 pm, but it is always nice to have the flexibility to add more time to the tour if you see something you enjoy, so leave your evening flexible if possible.
All events start promptly at time indicated. Bring rain gear if it rains.
Tour cost is $50 per person and includes contribution towards gas money for the van. Does not include food or drinks.
