I have served as Trail Master for a section of the FNST trail for several years and have been involved in trail maintenance, repair and routing in the national forest, wildlife refuge, and state parks. I am a dedicated day hiker and prefer sleeping in a bed. I have hiked sections of the AT in Georgia and N. Carolina and have made a number of hiking trips to Montana and Canada. Paddle fresh- and salt-water kayaks in our local rivers and bays.
I prefer day hikes of 10 miles or less. My interests in native flora and local scenery keep me from rushing through a trail but I like to keep a good pace when on the move. As an activities leader, I try to find a pace that keeps the participants energized but without making anyone struggle.
I am an Activity Leader listed with several hikes this season. I also serve as trail master for the 5-mile section of the Florida Trail that parallels the Sopchoppy river. Native plant photography is a hobby which combines will with hiking.
