Join us for a full-day adventure on the west bank of the Hudson River - just south of Cornwall-on-Hudson hiking to the summit of Storm King Mountain. Admire this beautiful place across the river from Breakneck Ridge - this striking area is considered part of the northern gateway to the Hudson Highlands. Our 4-mile trek will be steep and our rewards will include superb views of the Hudson River and surrounding countryside.
Immediately following our hike, we will have a short lunch break and then visit the Storm King Art Center, a unique 500-acre sculpture park.
Enjoy a leisurely afternoon wandering the beautifully landscaped rolling hills filled with more than 100 carefully sited sculptures. Admission $12/pp [$10/pp 65+]; you will purchase your own tickets upon arrival. You can wander through the exhibits on foot or take the tram. Photo on right features 'The Wall' created by artist Andy Goldsworthy.
Meet promptly at the trail-head at 9:15 sharp! Be prepared with sturdy footwear, lunch, snacks, water, change of shoes and camera; please carpool.
Please note we will meet at a different trail-head on Route 9W - details to follow.
