Thursday Evening Hike @ Valley Forge (3C6)

Our return to Valley Forge National Park from mid-Spring to Mid-Summer. Fast Pace. Meet at 6:30 p.m. at Washington's Headquarters parking lot near restrooms. Weather and daylight permitting we'll hike the trails and climb the hills. Optional refreshment stop afterwards. Thunder and lightning cancels. Well behaved, people friendly dogs on a leash allowed.

While this hike is scheduled for 6.30 pm every Thursday, it would be very helpful if everyone can get there by 6.15 pm. That way we can start signing everyone up. We generally have very large attendance during our 14 weeks at Valley Forge. We will try to break up the group between a faster group and the regular group either at the start or during the hike or on the way back so that faster hikers can do a bit more.

This hike is about 6 miles long with rolling hills and couple of climbs. you will need sturdy shoes and water. Please click the link below for directions to Washington's HQ parking area at Valley Forge.

People, thank you so very much for joining another terrific Thursday Evening hike with perfect hiking weather! This was the most heavily attended hike I have been on since I joined AMC five years ago. We had 68 participants today! We split up the group right at the start. With ample daylight, the faster group did three hills with almost 7 miles and 1500 feet of up elevation in just 2 hours! Paul has already posted the hike stats. My thanks to Bill Lotz for leading the other group and Bruce for sweeping for that group. I think I seriously twisted my ankle today – luckily, we had a Physiotherapist on the hike! My thanks to Suhasini (SP) for her advice. We had 17 people at Rock Bottom and good times as usual. Next week should be another long day and we will try to do three hills for the faster group – weather permitting. See you all next week. - Bijal

I was really looking forward to today since I missed the last 2 weeks and I finally got my hiking boots yesterday! However I am moving saturday and no where done packing so I should use the time this evening to get more packing done.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
