    Jin, thanks for the link.
The canoe trip I mentioned was "Mullica River Canoe Camping" and this past trip was June 1-2

We hiked a little more than 8 miles, including the first half or so miles I missed. Here is the link (http://connect.garmin.com/player/391056546). Once it opens, you can click the play button to play the course.

Thank you for joining the hike. 12 people participated. I assume that everyone saw several new things during the hike. It could the buildings, the monuments, or the plants. I have lead the same route several times. Now I know about the lemon tree by the Strawberry Mansion, the shape of the magnolia fruits and it beautiful seeds. We found the several great ginkgo trees. For those of you who could not come due to the tiredness or the pain. I hope you get better and join the event with us sometime soon. I lead this area twice a year if the conditions allow, but not all of them are posted on the Meetup site. If you would like to know more trips/events, you can join the Appalachian Club and receive a weekly e-mail of the upcoming activities within 2 weeks as well as the advanced notice of the main events or the multiple-day trip.

The Whisper Bench at Philadelphia civil war memorial is interesting.

    Hi all,

It seems there are several first timers. We will meet at a bench near the stop light at the Kelly Drive or somewhere between the buildings. I have a red backpack.

Everyone (AMC members, AMC Meetup-only members, non-member guests) needs to sign the sign up sheet before 9:30 AM. I will explain about the sheet at the beginning of the group activity. See you tomorrow morning.

That was a great hike, I never knew much about Fairmont Park. Next time I'll bring a hat and sunscreen when the forecast is possible rain showers.

Sorry. I'm not going to make it. As much as I've been wanting to do this hike, I am too windburned, chilled and tired from sailing today. Have fun!

I crew a 40' sloop in Raritan Bay. It was gusty in the shipping channel, which is normally sheltered from Staten Island.

I sail smaller boats, my biggest is 16 feet, I also built it, there is a picture on one of my other meetup groups profiles. My favorite place to sail is Assateague. It's mostky used by kyacks and canoes. Its a National Seashore site and also has remote camping. Beautiful relaxing place.

Sorry to miss this as I am new to area and was looking forward to exploring. But I am experiencing some foot pain and don't want to do more damage.

    Hi there,

I just came back from the DV Chapter 6-days-trip (not listed in the Meetup). So far the weather seems to be OK. But in case of cancellation, please see this website. I will send you the cancellation notice to you, too. R.J., haha... "quite a hike---" You're right. But there were few people came that way in the past.

"...on foot from 30th street station" ? As a former Art Museum resident, may I say...that's quite a hike already!

May my 23 year old daughter join? I don't see a way to add a +1.

I think that was because the event was full, but now there is one spot open so I think you should be able to add her on the RSVP tab
