Just a couple notes...the scheduled whitewater releases were canceled due to mechanical issues at the dam. Also, the boy scouts will not be selling food this year (for reasons unrelated to the whitewater release cancellations).

Does anyone want to still go and hike on our own. I know some of the trails at High Rocks. I was really looking forward to this hike.

Looks like we potentially have a very big group interested in attending! Any other AMC leaders coming who would be willing to co-lead so we can break into smaller sub-groups while on the trail?

hi' how long this hike ?

    October 24, 2013

    • Elisabeth

It will be about 7-8 miles. The hike rating (3C7-8) tells you what to expect. The first number tells you the leader's expected pace on this hike, the letter provides the type of terrain, and the second number(s) estimates the distance. In our case, expect to hike 7-8 miles on trails over rolling hills at a good clip. Since there is significant leaf cover on the ground in November, I would wear hiking boots even if the trail isn't rocky, but that's a personal choice.

It is not listed as a MeetUp, but you will find it on the AMC site http://www.amcdv.org/

Both the Nov 2 and 3 hikes are at the same location, and both are show and go, so you can just meet at the parking lot at 10 am. Joan Aichele will be leading the Saturday hike.
