Let’s gather for what may be our last opportunity to enjoy our local snow. This relatively level 6-mile loop follows woods roads through thick groves of rhododendron and hemlock, passing Wawayanda Lake and the historic Wawayanda Furnace. If there is enough snow, we will snowshoe – if not, we will hike bare boot along several trails. There may also be an option to cross-country ski.
If conditions are favorable and time allows, we may add more mileage. Bring water, lunch, snacks, thermos with warm beverage, extra non-cotton layers, winter or waterproof boots, snowshoes or traction devices. Meet at 10:00am sharp at the park office parking lot. Consider this an all-day activity; optional post-hike refreshments at a local eatery.
