We will hike the 6.5 mile Hawk Mountain loop via River of Rocks, Golden Eagle, and Skyline trails. This terrain is extremely rocky and steep, and includes scrambling along the Skyline trail. The Skyline trail offers beautiful views of the PA landscape several hundred feet below and is a prime location for spotting hawks and other bird species. When we aren't scrambling we will be keeping a moderate pace. We will stop and enjoy the views and have a leisurely lunch. This hike will cover ~6.5 miles and elevation gain is ~850 ft. Sturdy hiking boots & water are needed.
Note: There is $6 Trail Admission Fee for this hike.

Three of us went and had a nice time. It wasn’t quite as warm as we would have liked (and as predicted), but we did see some blue skies, and were glad that the rocks were nice and dry.

Would love to have gone but I'll be volunteering at TreePhilly's yardtree give away. Hopefully, I can make the next hike if it's posted early enough. Hawk Mt.'s a beautiful place! Enjoy and have a great time! Stop at the "Skyview Diner" on the way home!
