Worthington, Sunfish Pond and Mt Tammany (3C13)

Join us for a long hike in the Worthington and Water Gap area.  This longer hike includes two steep 1000 ft ascents. Starting at Worthington, we’ll go directly up the side of the mountain, enjoying the stream and waterfalls, with some steep, slippery footing, finally reaching Sunfish Pond at the top. Then after a gradual descent down to the Water Gap, we’ll do another 1000 ft rise up Mt Tammany.  After enjoying the views, we’ll follow Kittatinny Ridge back north to the pond and back down to the Delaware River.  Expect rocky terrain requiring boots.  Bring 2 liters of water and bag lunch.  Definitely time taken to enjoy the views and lunch spots!  Contact leader for start time and location. Our house has been hit by the plague that is circulating :-( This is bound to be a beautiful hike!

This is a 13 mile hike. (3c13). With two separate one mile/thousand foot per mile climbs it's not suitable for beginners. It's trying to emulate White Mountain type steepness.
