Join us for a 9-mile figure 8 loop hike through expansive oak-hickory forests, shady hemlock ravines and around several wetlands. Terrain is hilly with one very short section where the trail courses over a rock ledge; participants will climb with the aid of a rope. If visibility permits, enjoy a beautiful overlook of the Delaware Valley and Kittatinny Mountains. Take a series of switchbacks down to Tumbling Waters [waterfall]. Meet at the PEEC center at 9:00am sharp. No dogs permitted. This will be an all-day activity; photographers welcomed. Bring sturdy footwear, including microspikes/STABILicers/crampons if weather conditions warrant, lunch/snacks, and water. Heavy rain/snow cancels. After-hike refreshments will be at Blue Ribbon Restaurant overlooking Culver Lake, NJ on Route 206.
