Tumbling Waters Loop - Pocono Environmental Education Center [PEEC]

Join us for a 9-mile figure 8 loop hike through expansive oak-hickory forests, shady hemlock ravines and around several wetlands. Terrain is hilly with one very short section where the trail courses over a rock ledge; participants will climb with the aid of a rope. If visibility permits, enjoy a beautiful overlook of the Delaware Valley and Kittatinny Mountains. Take a series of switchbacks down to Tumbling Waters [waterfall]. Meet at the PEEC center at 9:00am sharp.  No dogs permitted.  This will be an all-day activity; photographers welcomed. Bring sturdy footwear, including microspikes/STABILicers/crampons if weather conditions warrant, lunch/snacks, and water. Heavy rain/snow cancels.   After-hike refreshments will be at Blue Ribbon Restaurant overlooking Culver Lake, NJ on Route 206.

This hike was fabulous. Not only did we see a beautiful area and get a nice work out, Terry was a terrific host with oodles of energy. Terry was very organized and incorporated a lot of fun and laughter in this hike. And what a great group of people. I look foward to joining AMC Delaware Valley Chapter again real soon. Thank you Terry for hosting and putting this together.

Thank you all for joining me; what a nice group! It was a crisp wintry day and the light blanket of snow added a beautiful touch to the already lovely scenery. Thanks to Steve for sweeping. Hope to see you all on the trail soon.

Thanks, Terry for leading a fabulous hike. We had a spirited new group of hikers, whose
enthusiasm made a dreary day brighter.

Do participants drive up the night before?

    November 20, 2012

    • Terry B

Susan - I don't believe anyone drives up the night before. See if you can find others that live in your area in order to carpool. Thx.

When you say, "participants will climb with the aid of a rope," is it like what we see in the pic above or something more challenging?

    November 21, 2012

    • Terry B

Dawn - It is what you see in the photo. Everyone always enjoys climbing up using the rope - not more challenging.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
