Appalachian Trail Sterling Forest Section Hike - 3D9

This will be a moderate paced hike of a Section of the Appalachian
trail starting 9 miles west of Elk Pen (Harriman) parking lot. The hike starts when
the AT crosses Lakes road, passes Fitzgerald Falls and finally descends
Arden Mt, Agony Grind (600 ft), ending at Elk Pen. Please bring a least
2 liters of water, lunch and snacks. Hiking Boots Required. No Beginners. Rain Cancels.

A car shuttle will be required for this Hike. Please let me know if you are taking the bus.

Time: 9:15am

Public Transportation:
You can take the 8:30 a.m. SHORT LINE bus run #401 to Arden, Orange CO., NY. Arr. 9:26. Request bus driver to stop at "Welcome to Harriman Park" sign on Rt. 17 at Arden Valley Rd (2 miles N of Southfields). At that sign, go E 4/10 mile. Meet at pkg. lot, which is the first right turn after crossing Thruway Bridge.
