Route 9D, Cold Spring, NY
Let’s celebrate July 4 by climbing up Breakneck ridge. Expect a fun, Hilly, Demanding hike of 10 miles at a brisk not running pace with a reasonable e number of stops. All who want a vigorous hike not a run are welcome. Hiking boots required. Also bring at least 3 quarts of water and your lunch. This is an all day hike that will start at 9:08 and end 6-7 hours later. Rain cancels. No swimming. This is a Hard Hike. If you are not comfortable climbing over rocks for a few hours and hiking all day please don't come. You will not have an enjoyable day. If you like climbing rocks this is the hike for you.The planned route is to go up the Face of Breakneck on the Breakneck Ridge trail, and then take the Notch trail to the Wilkerson trail. If it is really hot the hike will be modified. We will stop more, and an easier shadier route will be done. Trans. %e, But use the Early 7:43 train that arrives at Breakneck at 9:08. Those using Public Transportation take the 7:43 Metro North Trail to Breakneck Ridge. Exit the train from the last car. If you are driving 9D to the Main Breakneck Ridge parking lot.
