Free seminar on Outdoor Education and the A Mountain Classroom program

I would like to invite you to join our team of educators on Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Noble View Outdoor Center in Russell, MA to learn more about the Appalachian Mountain Club’s A Mountain Classroom  program and available funding. The  AMC has grants specifically for Hampden and Hampshire County public, elementary, and middle schools interested in participating in the program.

During this free, half-day, you will join other educators who have passion for the outdoors and an interest in delivering environmental educational programming to their students. Together, our educators and yours, we will have the opportunity to network and learn more about the AMC’s educational programs for students and educators. The group will share ideas about how educators can work together with the AMC staff to provide fun, engaging outdoor learning experiences. We will also discuss how to overcome any real or perceived barriers to environmental education and outdoor learning experiences.

Surrounded by 117,000 acres of conservation land, Noble View offers both day and overnight programs for students.  It is a perfect venue  for connecting students to the forests, fields, and rivers of western Mass. We take advantage of recent upgrades to the facility, by  incorporating conservation technology, such as solar energy, composting, and natural lighting throughout the property into the conservation program for the students.  Noble view has overnight accommodations for single class groups, and the grounds have ample space for day programs for larger student groups.

The curriculum for the A Mountain Classroom program has been developed over more than 40 years and been delivered to thousands of students. I am happy to answer any questions you, or any other members of your staff have about this opportunity to learn more about what the Appalachian Mountain Club and the Noble View facility can provide to your students and faculty.  You may contact me by phone:[masked] or by email: [masked]
