Hike along a beautiful cascading creek through a beautiful ravine rich with history and legends !

Bring your lunch, some trail snacks and some water in a small day pack (book bag) - for this easy to moderate rated 5 mile hike of the Raven Cliffs Falls Trail just outside Helen, GA. (2.5 mile in & out hike - so it's 5 miles total)

The beautiful hike features walking besides the sparkling waters of Dukes Creek - and the serenity of the sounds of waterfalls fills the entire day.

It's about a 1.5 hour drive for most folks within the perimeter area of Atlanta (see Google Maps link below to Meetup location below to "JUMPING GOAT COFFEE ROASTERS" in Helen, GA). No special gear or clothing is necessary - but if you have a rain-poncho to put into your day pack - it's always a good idea in the mountains!

The cost of the trip is $20. If you are not a member - click on "Join Us" to the upper right of the page - and then RSVP for the trip. It will direct you as per credit card or PayPal payment methods.

IN ADDITION - AFTER THE HIKE  - WE WILL CARAVAN BACK TO HELEN TO HAVE AN OPTIONAL DINNER SOCIAL AT A CLASSIC BAVARIAN EATERY IN HELEN - "THE OLD BAVARIAN INN".

(Note: Please be aware that you are responsible for your own safety on your Appalachian Wilderness Hikers Meetup Trip - and our sponsor requires that you sign a release of liability

CLICK HERE FOR A GOOGLE MAPS LINK TO OUR MORNING MEETUP LOCATION - "JUMPING GOAT COFFEE ROASTERS"

PLEASE BE PROMPT AS WE WILL ONLY WAIT 15 MINUTES TO ALLOW FOR LATE-COMERS!

**NOTE: please park across the street from the coffee house when meeting up that morning NOT in the very limited parking for the coffee house of mill next door! Thanks ! **

We hope you can join us!

A guided (volunteer guide from Appalachian Wilderness Guides) 5 mile hike. It does not include the optional social. Members voted on instituting a fee to stop cancellations at last minute which was discouraging guides from wanting to volunteer. We are the only Meetup in the U.S. with pro volunteer guides.

Hi, can you please tell me what is covered with the $20 cost? Does that include the dinner at Old Bavarian Inn?

    Thanks! -Dave

Jumping Goat Coffee Roasters is next to Nora Mills in the Nacooche Village area just south of Helen proper. There is very limited parking in front of Jumping Goat and Nora Mills, so park across the street in the Habersham Winery lot. Best bet is to use the gravel parking area just below the paved parking lot.

Just an F.Y.I. re the optional social / dinner at the "Old Bavaria Inn" in Helen. The food is GREAT ! I have lots of family in N.Y. so I know a good Rueben sandwich when I see one - and let me tell ya - their Rueben Sandwiches are great ! Also - platter sized fresh pretzels, German beer and Apple Streuedel flown in regularly from Berlin ! You should plan to go there with the group after the hike - EVEN - if you only go once in your life !

Is the Meetup location near the Welcome Center as described or near the coffee house at 7082 South Main St.? Google Maps appears to bring them up as different places.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
