Any person who is not currently a member and wishes to join this group must do the following:
1. Review and comply with the group's guidelines.
2. Answer all profile questions.
3. Upload a recognizable picture of YOU to your profile.
4. The organizer will review your request to join and either approve or deny your request.
By joining the group you have made a commitment to be an "active" participant. Members must attend at least two (2) events every six months (Jan-Jun, Jul-Dec) in order to remain "active". If a member is deemed inactive for six consecutive months, that member will be removed from the group. This is to ensure that all members are actively involved.
New members must attend at least one (1) event within 90 days of joining in order to avoid removal from the group.
Members are required to pay dues within 90 days of joining the group and annually on the anniversary of their join date. These dues are collected to cover fees incurred by Meetup.com for use of their website. Dues can be paid via Paypal or by sending check/cash to the Organizer. Dues are non-refundable.
In most instances, RSVP’s will open up for an event 30 days prior to the event date. This RSVP date will be included on the initial email announcement for the event. This process is done in order to allow everyone an equal opportunity to join and attend a Meetup. It will also help avoid No-Shows/Last Minute Cancels from happening when someone RSVP’s “Yes” for an event and then forgets about the event when it actually occurs.
I didn’t finish the book, should I still attend?
Please try and give a book at least the first 100 pages before you decide to abandon it, if you don't like it but want to come to the meetup anyway. Just be aware that the book will be discussed. The group is also meant to be a social outing for book-minded people. You can share why you didn't like the book.
If you RSVP for an event, please plan on attending. Please cancel your RSVP no later than 3 days prior to the event. If a member RSVP’s “YES” and does not attend the Meetup, that member will be classified as a "No-Show" for the Meetup. After one no-show, that member may be removed from the group.
We are aware that "life happens" and we all have events that are unforeseen, making prior notice difficult. If this occurs, please contact the host or myself ASAP, so that arrangements can me made immediately if needed. Contact information for each host is listed on the specific Meetup event.
Members of our group are encouraged to volunteer and host a month sometime during the year.
Our group meets in private homes of our members. The private addresses of members will not be posted on the Meetup event. The address information will be sent via email to the “Yes” RSVP’s shortly before the Meetup occurs. Please make sure that you have your “Email & Notification” settings set to receive emails from this group, as it is our main tool of communication.
