Theme Frameworks, Where Do I Start? With Brad Parbs

There are a ton of theme frameworks on the WordPress market, both free & paid, that all seem to be "the best". How do you figure out which one to use for what project? What good are starter themes or theme frameworks, anyway? And how do they save you any time?

Theme frameworks are essentially starter themes that you can use as a foundation for the development of your own custom themes. This can significantly reduce your development time, and saves you from re-inventing the wheel. Some are more elaborate than others with different functionality, but they all have pros and cons.

Brad Parbs, WordPress fanatic, has used almost every theme framework and starter theme out there. And even built a few of his own. He'll take us through this crazy jungle of options, so you can figure out where you need to start. Stop building custom themes for clients from scratch, there's an easier way!

Also, for those interested Patrick Rauland and Brad Parbs will both be working from Avenue HQ afterwards. Come hang out and code with us. :)

The presentation covered not only what starter themes are, how to employ them, which are useful but also why you should employ starter themes. Brad gave a tremendous presentation and I learned a great deal.

You don't need to RSVP, but The Avenue HQ is hosting another coworking "jelly" this day, which means that any freelancers or independent professionals are welcome to come try out the space (and have some coffee) for free. It goes from 11a-3p, so feel free to bring a lunch!

The meetup location says it's at Harmony... Is that right or will it be at AvenueHQ?

The meetup will be at Harmony - there will be awesomeness at Avenue HQ after the meetup.
