In this lecture we have Erik Romijn, who will share his views on the topic 'iOS security: super simple stuff'.
Our apps today store more and more sensitive information. As developers, it is our job to ensure this information is well protected. iOS comes with many built-in security features, and several APIs to help secure the user's data. Using these features is not so difficult, as long as you know about them, use them properly, and avoid their pitfalls.
In this practical session, we'll dive into the details of built-in iOS features, like filesystem encryption or the Keychain. We’ll look at how to securely communicate with an API. And lastly, we'll look into other small but nasty potential issues, like background screenshots or caching.

Weekly Wednesday Lunchtime Lectures is an initiative to allow people in Appsterdam to talk about technology and share knowledge, allowing participants to receive training in public speaking. Our lectures cover a wide range of topics related to making apps on any platform, from technical to non-technical including computer languages, modelling, testing, design, marketing, business philosophy, startups, strategizing, and more.
In the full sharing spirit of Appsterdam, we will eat lunch together. Our kind host will provide us with bread and drinks. Bring your own sandwich topping to share with others.
