I am not a native speaker but in 80's I lived in Kuwait for a good length of time where I learn everyday Arabic or Lughaat el ammiah al Arabia. I was born in Pakistan and we learn to read arabic to read Quran and arabic books as a matter of fact my native language Urdu is also in arabic script.
I don't know if I am good for this meet or you encourage only native arabic speaker to come and join your meetup?

Thanks for the note. I don't know how often I will be able to attend, as I live in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood, but I am encouraged that a student of the language is running the meetup. I am a beginner, and need all the help I can get. It's an intimidating language, much more difficult than learning Spanish has been. I hope to see you there sometime. Cheers!
