The Refuge: Faulty Towers Area - This is an official AMC outing.

David Arthur Sampson, an AMC member currently undergoing “Outing Leader Certification”, and Frank Vers (a sanctioned AMC Outing Leader) will lead a rock climbing outing to a relatively new climbing area in Lower Devil’s Canyon called "The Refuge." Although there are multiple, distinct walls (sub-areas) at the Refuge we will be going to an area called Faulty Towers. Faulty Towers receives morning sun (it faces East) . It has 21 established routes ranging from 5.6 to 5.12. These are all single-pitch climbs.
This is an official AMC outing. Please plan on bringing your personal gear (helmet, rope, harness, rack [if you so choose], draws, food, water, sun screen, and appropriate clothing for weather found at 3,500 foot elevation for this time of year). Everyone attending should have climbing experience and rope skills. We will set up top rope climbs, but there is opportunity for lead climbing.
Climbing is a personal choice and requires personal responsibility. Climbing and associated activities are dangerous and can result in injury and/or death. Climbing exposes you to risks. Risks are not eliminated by training, or skill. By your participation in any AMC activity or event, you accept and assume any and all risks, including those created by negligence, connected to such activity or event.
